Stanley Charles Huffer, 55, passed away at home on Sunday February 22, 2015. Born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on October 8, 1959 to Ronald and Alice Faye Huffer, Stan spent his early years in Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, and Evansville, IN. He graduated from Lawrence Central High School in the Class of 1978, where he was on the wrestling and golf teams. He attended Ball State University.
In the early 1980's Stan was the energetic lead singer and front man for the local New Wave band "The Slammies". He helped found Bazbeaux's Pizza during that same time. An accomplished chef, he worked for many years in the food service business. In recent years he has worked in the construction trades for his brother Stuart's business, Huffer Construction.
Stan was an avid and proficient golfer and enjoyed fishing. He was a classic movie buff. He is survived by his mother, Alice Vanarsdall and by his brothers, Steve and Stuart, all of whom reside locally. He leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews, Andy, Matt and Maggie Huffer, and Abbey, Allie and Joseph Huffer. He is also survived by his grandmother Lueta Cook, who lives in Kendallville, Indiana.
Favorite uncle, beloved son and brother, he will be missed deeply by all who loved and knew him.
