Stamie L. 'S.L.' Cain, Jr.

Stamie L. "S.L." Cain, Jr. 83, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Facility. After 3 years of illness God called him home. S.L. was born on July 23, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC to Stamie L. Cain, Sr. and Natalie (Wooten) Cain. He retired in 1986 as a branch manager in Indianapolis for McLean Trucking Members Credit Union. S.L. was a member of Oak Summit Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Shirley (Lindsey) Cain; step-sons, Dennis (Cindy) Pfisterer, Phillip (Patti) Pfisterer; granddaughter, Ashley (Adam) Mathis; great-grandchildren, Austin and Libby Mathis; step granddaughters, Priscilla Meadimber and Dawn (Howard) Griffin. S.L. is also survived by nieces, Lynn (Jim) Snyder, Barbara (Bill) Haralson, Jean (Edwin) Spach; nephews, Steve (Priscilla) Cockrum, Jim Cockrum, David (Billie) Livingston and Gerald (Cathy) Reavis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marilee Cockrum and Mildred Livingston. Funeral services for Mr. Cain will be held at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 1pm with visitation 2 hours prior to the services.
