Spencer L. Smith

Spencer Lee Smith, 75, of Indianapolis, Indiana passedaway peacefully January 6, 2016. He wasborn January 17, 1940, at St. Francis, Beech Grove, to Andrew Jackson Smith andMelva Marie (Gilman).

He was a member of the Moose Lodge #17 and proud Masonof the Pleasant Masonic Lodge No. 134 F & A.M. Spencer was a serviceengineer for Detroit Diesel (now Allison Transmissions) for 32 years. An avid bird hunter, you could find himtravelling to Mexico, Canada and Belize to hunt dove, quail and pheasant. A few hobbies Spencer also enjoyed includescuba diving and flying his very own airplane.

Spencer will be remembered by his loving family,survivors include son, Benjamin L. Smith (Jo Anna), daughter, Jennifer Hoffman(Henri), partner, Susan Middleton, step-daughter, Jennifer Warner, sister, SueSwitzer (Richard), grandchildren, Kayleigh, Melissa, Morgan, Taylor, Logan,Taylor and Cody.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 12:00PM-2:00PMin Flanner and Buchanan—Washington Park East 10722 E Washington St.Indianapolis, IN 46229, with a Memorial Service at 2:00PM.
