Sonja Griffin Hunter

Sonja Griffin Hunter 71, passed away on January 28, 2012 with her family by her side. She was a resident of Indianapolis, IN, but had lived in Brownsburg, IN for 20 years prior to moving to Indianapolis. She was born February 26, 1940, in Latonia, KY to Harland and Helen (Van Hook) Griffin. She graduated high school in 1957 and married April 23, 1960. She retired from Winona Hospital in 2003 so that she could devote time to spend with her grandchildren each summer between the school year. She was fortunate enough to travel to Italy and be blessed by Pope Benedict. She loved spending time visiting with family and friends. She was an active member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and Tri Kappa Sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Brad (Kathy); four grandchildren, Lora (Logan) Parmele, Katie Teagarden, Cody Hunter, Alexa Hunter and 9 siblings. Visitation will be Monday from 4 - 8pm at Flanner and Bu chanan-Washington Park North. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Christopher Tuesday at 11am.
