Sidney N. Tillery

Sidney “Sid” Nathan Tillery of Brownsburg, Indiana went home to Jesus Christ on May 20, 2024, at IU Methodist Hospital. He was 90 years old.

Sid attended Washington High School, class of 1951 where he met the love of his life, Rosemary Hoffmeyer. They were wed March 23, 1952, and had their only son, Michael in March 1953. 

Sid became a born-again Christian and attended Calvary Tabernacle Apostolic Pentecostal Church. Rooted in the Word of God, he became a strong advocate and teacher of Oneness Doctrine and brought many to the knowledge of Jesus Christ through the Bible. In the years following Sid was a member of Calvary Tabernacle, pastored by N. A. Urshan, and currently Apostolic Christian Church, pastored by Nathan Cannon (formerly Moriah Apostolic Church, pastored by Nathaniel Paul Urshan).

Sid served his apprenticeship at Allison Transmission as a tool and die maker. He worked at Chevrolet Truck and Bus off White River Parkway for 41 years before retiring with Rosie at Lady Lake Florida at the Villages for 15 years. 

Sid was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosemary Ann (Hoffmeyer) Tillery, parents Lora Etta (Griffith) Tillery and Sidney Nathan Tillery Sr. His stepfather Chester Propes, and brother Robert Tillery. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Nathan Michael Tillery.

Survivors include his son, Dr. Michael F. Tillery and daughter-in-law Anita T. Tillery; grandchildren Lisa Jane (Kendall) Hayden, Daniel Ryan (Heather) Tillery, Courtney Kathleen (Greg) Bornstein, and Christopher Neville (Erin) Tillery; and great-grandchildren Landon Priest, Gregory Bornstein, Michael Bornstein, Natalie Bornstein, Everett Tillery and Leo Tillery. 

You are invited to celebrate Sidney’s life this Saturday, May 25, at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N High School Road. Visitation will be Friday May 24, 2024, from 4–8 pm and Saturday from 10-12. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday May 25, 2024, at noon by Nathan Cannon, and Rev. Nathaniel P. Urshan. Burial will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
