Shirley Tedders Jones, a devoted homemaker and mother of six, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by her children in her cherished home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born on April 13, 1940, to the late James Samuel Tedders and Mary Jane (Cobb) Tedders in Knox County, Kentucky, Shirley dedicated her life to her family with unwavering love, strength, and grace. After marrying Harold Dean Jones, in 1956, she embraced the role of homemaker with pride and purpose.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 2010. She is survived by her brother, Tom (Glenda) Tedders of Titus, Alabama and her six children Darrell, Sherry, Jerry, Joanne (Jack) Edwards, Joel, and Mary (Martin) Easley, and her two grandchildren, John and Kay.

Services will be privately held by the family. Shirley will be laid to rest at Washington Park East. Arrangements are in the care of Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East.

She will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the lives she nurtured and the home she made for all who knew her.
