Shirley A. Shaffer

Shirley A. Shaffer, 86, of Carmel passed away February 22, 2024.  She was born March 10, 1937, in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of the late George and Mimi (Glaze) Cassel.  She married Roscoe “Sam” Shaffer on September 22, 1963.  He preceded her in passing on December 6, 2019, after 56 years of marriage.

Shirley was strong in her faith and an active member of East 91^st Street Christian Church.  She enjoyed bowling and gardening, was an avid reader, and an amazing cook.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by son, Jeff (Abby); two grandchildren, Scott and Lori Shaffer; sister, Jacqueline Helm; sister-in-law, Bonnie Greenwell.  She was preceded in passing by seven siblings, Arlene, Delores, Harold, Don, Robert, Rosie, and Betty.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024, at East 91^st Street Christian Church, 6049 East 91^st Street.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.
