Shirley Mae Fields Michaels, 78, of Zionsville, died September 27, 2013.
Shirley was born July 18, 1935 in Washington, IN to James Floyd and Esther L. Ray Fields; they preceded her in death as did her husband, Elmer N. Michaels; her sister, Mary Ellen Oaks; and her brother, Richard Fields.
Mrs. Michaels was a graduate of Washington Catholic High School. She built her life around her family and took great pride in being a homemaker. She was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church and was a member of Village Homemakers.
Mrs. Michaels is survived by her 7 children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her brother, Fred Fields; her sisters, Marilyn Helms and Judy Bockelman.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Thursday, October 3, 2013 by Fr. Dennis J. O'Keeffe at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, 1870 W. Oak St. Zionville. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church, The American Heart Association, or Zionsville Meadows Healthcare.
Mother loved her God and her family; she will be always loved and missed by all!
