Shirley J. Keeton

Shirley Jean Keeton, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 17, 2023. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on November 7, 1938, to her parents Robert and Lizzie Sizemore. Shirley was a CNA for around 15 years. Her compassion and caring spirit guided her through her career to serve others—even family members at times. Shirley could best be remembered for her love of family. Growing up with 12 siblings, the value of family always stayed the center of her life. She was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones—especially her children and grandchildren. Shirley married the love of her life, Clayton Keeton, in 1954. Together they spent 41 years creating wonderful memories. Shirley will be missed tremendously by all the lives she has touched.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lizzie (Keith) Sizemore; her husband, Clayton Keeton; her daughter in law, Adriana Keeton; her siblings, Craft Sizemore, Frank Sizemore, Vernon Sizemore, John Sizemore, Esther Atkins, Janette Durschel, Allie Hacker, Myrtle Lainhart, Mayme Renfrow, and Martha Scott.

Shirley is survived by her children, Brenda Kay Kelly (Joseph) and Jeffery Clay Keeton (The Late Adriana); her grandchildren, Brandon Kelly (Janel), Kristin Habbe (Andrew), Ashley Rossi (John), Collin Keeton (Natalie); her greatgrandchildren, Avery Joseph Habbe, Heidi Habbe, Alexander Habbe, Finnegan Kelly, Rowan Kelly, Amelia Rossi, and Nathan Keeton; and her brother, Woodie Sizemore (June).

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN, 46229. A funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 1PM. Shirley will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
