Shirley E. Marcum

Shirley E. Marcum, 68 of Indianapolis, IN was born May 28, 1946 and passed away on May 9, 2015. She was born in Batesville, IN to Howard and Dorothy Borchelt, who precede her in death. Shirley graduated from Batesville High School in 1964. She has worked as a Beautician for 50 years. She was deeply involved with Zion United Church of Christ since 1971. She loved mowing the grass at the church. She enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds, the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Pacers but most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren. Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Ray, her son, Darrell (Melinda) Marcum, her siblings, Evelyn (Tom) Holman, Irvin (La Donna) Borchelt, Arlene (Mike) Neyer and Bev (Jeff) Schwier, her grandchildren, Noah Marcum, Emma Marcum, Makayla Marcum, Gracelyn Cazee, Andrew Cazee, Phoenix Cazee, and great-grandchildren, Marley Cazee and Jason Cazee as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with Shirley's family from 4-8 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Celebration of Shirley's life will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Zion United Church of Christ, 8916 E.
