Shelby Lee Orozco

Shelby Lee McWhirter Orozco of Midland, Texas, formerly from Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly January 7, 2026, at 32 years of age. She was born on September 10, 1993, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Jerry L. and Lynn A. (Stofer) McWhirter. Shelby was a graduate of the class of 2012 from Ben Davis High School where she was on Color Guard, and Winter Guard. She also participated in Swimming and Volleyball during High School. She was also a graduate of Empire Cosmetology School and was a hairstylist and educator. Most recently she was continuing her education and working as the Controller for DNI. She had a great love for animals, especially cats and dogs, and cherished their companionship. Shelby is survived by her parents, Jerry L. and Lynn A. (Stofer) McWhirter, her husband, Eduardo “Eddie” Orozco, her sisters, Jillian (Steve) Smith, Ashley (Eric) Black, her nieces, Kyleigh (Casey) Gribble, Allyson Black, and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 10:00am-1:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Speedway with the Funeral Service there immediately following at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
