Sharron Jane Shambaugh

Fairland, Indiana – Sharron Jane Shambaugh, 76, passed away on October 18, 2025. A caring and devoted mother, she will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Sharron was born on May 30, 1949, to parents Gordon & Beulah (McFerren) Lane in Carmel, Indiana. A graduate of Broad Ripple High School, she worked for over 25 years at Naval Avionics. Most importantly, she met the love of her life, Michael Shambaugh, in 1967 and celebrated 50 years of marriage together before his untimely passing in 2017.

When not working, Sharron enjoyed singing karaoke, playing poker with her family and friends, but most of all bingo. At one point she was playing bingo four nights a week with her friends and enjoying every minute of it.

Sharron is survived by her children, Tom Shambaugh (Shanna) and Teresa Shambaugh (Brian), sister Willette Cooper (Dennis), grandchildren Patrick Shambaugh, Cierra Shambaugh, Ashley Defonde (Jeff), and Taylor Shambaugh, and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Scarlet, Elias, Kasey, Noel, Kaylynn Alexander, Jayden Alexander, and Callie.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229) from 11:30 – 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery following the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to the American Lung Association or the Dementia Society of America.
