It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon McCaffrey Pillow on April 16, 2024 – beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.
Sharon was born on May 29, 1958, in Indianapolis to Bob and Babs McCaffrey. She attended Purdue University, where she received a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Special Education, and excelled as a Silver Twin at many bowl games with her identical twin sister, Linda. She later furthered her education with a Master’s in Special Education and a Master’s in Counseling. She devoted her career to making a difference in the lives of her students through teaching, counseling, and tutoring.
Sharon is survived by her son, Scott Pillow; her daughter, Vicki Arnold and husband, Kyle Arnold; her brother, Steve McCaffrey and wife, Melissa; her sister, Linda McCaffrey and boyfriend, Mike Guidone; her cousin, Susan Howard-Brown, husband, Rodger Brown, and their children; her nephew, John Duckworth, his wife, Lauren, and their children; her niece, Laura Kracher and husband, Chad; her niece, Rachel McCaffrey and husband, Tyler Marshall; her niece, Sarah Pence and husband, Michael, and their children; her niece, Christina Whiteside; and her nephew, Ben Callahan.
Sharon's memory will also be cherished by numerous other relatives, friends, and colleagues whose lives she touched with her warmth and compassion.
A funeral service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (located at 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46250) in the Good Shepherd Chapel on Monday, April 22 at 12pm. Visitation hours will precede the funeral from 10am-12pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association.
