Sharon Lou Gut, 76 of Indianapolis, passed away on December 21, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 22, 1945 to the late George and Myrtle Benson. She was a 1963 graduate of Manuel High School—where she met the love of her life, Hans Gut. Sharon was also a Worthy Matron for the Eastern Star Prospect Lodge 452. Sharon was a talented and successful beautician for LS Ayres and eventually her own shop. In later years, Sharon found a love for raising, showing, and breeding Grand Champion Persian and Himalayan cats. She was skilled in many areas, especially being able to recreate any craft any design—she had an amazing eye for detail and could make anything. Sharon was gifted in a lot of areas, but most importantly she was the best wife, mom, grandma, and friend. She will be missed sorely by all the lives she has touched.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 ½ years, Hans Gut; her children, Dawn (Johnny) Guest, Jonathan (Yaprak) Gut, and David (Erin) Gut; brother, Steve Benson; 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in passing by her parents and grandson, Andre Guest.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. A funeral service will follow at 1PM. Sharon will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
