Sharon Kay Walters

Sharon Kay (Baldwin) Walters, 77, of Fairland, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was born on March 12, 1944 in Syracuse, KS to the late Lester and Martha (Thompson) Baldwin.

Sharon graduated from Syracuse High School in Kansas and moved to Indianapolis with her sister Carolyn and friend Ruthie where she worked at the Pilgrim Holiness Headquarters. She attended Brookside Wesleyan Church and there met her husband Larry. They were married on July 27, 1968. Family was the focus of Sharon’s life. Together she and Larry had three children: Tim, LaShon, and Brian.  Sharon worked at Western Electric and Lowell Elementary School in Warren Township.

She was a member of Southview Wesleyan Church.

Sharon enjoyed numerous hobbies including making ceramics, arranging flowers, singing, cooking, and baking. She loved to babysit for friends and for her grandchildren. She was a woman of faith and followed the Lord, giving of herself more than she ever asked of others.

Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Larry Walters; children Tim (Christy) Walters, LaShon (Robert) Wagner, Brian (Brenda) Walters; grandchildren Aaron Walters, Chelsea Wagner, Thomas, Maggie, and Joey Wagner, Britney and Braxton Walters, Ashlyn Kay Walters.

; great-grandchildren Kayden, Aaliyah, and Kashton Walters and Casey, Jordan, and Bryson Matthews. In addition, she is survived by brothers Bob (Sandra) Baldwin, Gary (Janice) Baldwin, and Jim Baldwin as well as sisters Carolyn Baldwin and Elaina (Robert) West.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother John.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 10am-12pm at Southview Wesleyan Church, 4700 Shelbyville Road Indianapolis IN, 46237, with a funeral service immediately following.  Entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund c/o Southview Wesleyan Church.  Arrangements entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.
