Sharon Hopwood

Indianapolis, Indiana – Sharon Hopwood passed away on November 2, 2023. Sharon was born to Lee and Irene (Rupp) Bobb on July 20, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was 78 years old.

Sharon graduated from Manual High School on the southside of Indianapolis. She worked as for Indiana Bell for a decade, fifteen years with her brothers Sidney, Herbert, and Clyde at Imperial Electric; and she retired after 25 years with Regenstrief Institute in Indianapolis.

More than work or school though, Sharon will be remembered for her love of life. She could be found playing cards or bowling with her friends, gardening in her greenhouse, or relaxing listening to music. She loved her cats and most of all, she’ll be remembered for her beautiful laugh.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her husband David Hopwood; siblings Virginia Lee Bobb, Louis Edward Bobb, Kenneth Sidney Bobb, Herbert Charles Bobb, Martha Jean Bobb, and Clyde Emmett Bobb.

She is survived by her son Corey Hopwood (Layla); brother Sidney Bobb (Judy); grandchildren Ethan Hopwood, Luke Hopwood, and Beau Hopwood.
