With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sharon Virginia (Bateman) Harvey, who left us on September 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Sharon was born on June 22, 1941, to Simon and Helen (Moore) Bateman in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Sharon lived a life full of love, kindness and generosity. She graduated from Warren Central High School, enjoyed her years as a legal secretary and was active in Lawrence Township schools and Phi Beta Psi civic organization raising money for cancer research, IU Medical Center and Ronald McDonald House. Sharon loved helping to organize and being part of the Miller-Quirin-Harvey family reunion for many years. While living in Florida, you would often find her working outside to keep the neighborhood beautiful, planning special events at the club house, going on walks and playing cards or dominoes with her friends.
Sharon is survived by her son Keith (Donna) Harvey, daughters Pam Hogue and Laura (Dan) Flynn, grandchildren, Max (Hannah) Hogue, Allyson Hogue, Vincent Flynn and Thomas Flynn, and two great grandsons, Cayden and Wade Hogue. She was preceded in death by husband William Harvey, brother Graham “Butch” Bateman, son-in-law David Hogue, and great grandson Colton Hogue. The family would like to thank the staff at NorthStar Square Assisted Living and Regency Hospice for their compassionate care during Sharon’s illness.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 12 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East. The funeral service will be held from 1:00 to 2:00pm. Please join us in celebrating Sharon’s life and legacy. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
