Sharon Kay Boyd, 70, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on November 20th, 2025. Sharon was born on July 31st, 1955, in Logansport, Indiana to parents, Charles Evan and Joy Ann McQuinn (Mitchell). She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends and students.
After graduating from Tipton High School in 1973, Sharon went on to attend Indiana University, earning her bachelor’s degree in education in 1977. Sharon was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. It was at IU that she met the love of her life, Bob. After graduation, Bob and Sharon worked full time while earning their master’s degrees. Sharon and Bob married on July 29th, 1978, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with friendship, laughter, and unwavering support. They welcomed Nathan in 1981 and Anna in 1985, her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
Sharon dedicated her career as a teacher to helping students grow, learn, and feel valued. Sharon was a dedicated teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Hamilton Southeastern Schools in 2021. Sharon’s impact on her students extended far beyond the classroom; she devoted herself to instilling a love for learning and ensuring each child felt valued and capable. Her legacy is reflected in the countless lives she touched through her dedicated service to education.
Beyond her professional and educational accomplishments, Sharon was known for her unwavering love of family. Sharon enjoyed retirement with her family and granddaughters, Harper and Lucy. Her family was her pride and joy, and she made it a priority to spend quality time with them.
Whether tending to her beautiful flower garden, mowing the grass, enjoying nature, or reveling in the beauty of sunsets, Sharon had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. She found immense joy in feeding the birds and riding her bike, but one of her greatest joys came from attending her granddaughters’ events, never missing a chance to show her love and support.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert T. Boyd of 47 years; son, Nathan (Erika) Boyd; daughter, Anna (Rick) Seys; her beloved granddaughters, Harper Boyd and Lucy Seys; brother, Dr. Mark (JoAnn) McQuinn; beloved family, Dr. Kiley McQuinn (Matt Smith), Quinn, Walker, Merrill, Foster, and Meridian Smith, Dr. Kassey McQuinn (Nick Stewart), Oliver, Monroe, Harlow, and Crosby Stewart, Dr. Jeff (Erika), Maslow, Murphy and Kaplan McQuinn, Mallory (Clint), Eleanor, Bradford, Phoebe, Welles Newcom, Aunt Maxine Ogle, William (Sheryl) Boyd, Christopher (Dawn) Boyd, Matthew, Nick, Patrick (Randa) Nola Boyd, Rachel (Daniel) Blackie, Olivia, Audrey, Logan Blackie, Katie, Maura, Logan Wilhelm, Drew (Eva) and Julia Boyd; along with various beloved cousins.
Sharon will be remembered for her warm heart, quiet strength, determination and perseverance. Sharon’s legacy lives on in the family she treasured, the students she inspired, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.
A memorial service will be at 10am, Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan - Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), 4180 Westfield Rd., Westfield, IN 46062, with a gathering to follow until 12:30pm.
