S. Evelyn Grider, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away March 6, 2014. Evelyn was born May 28, 1930 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky the daughter of Milt and Ava (Tinsley) Short. She had worked at Kroger and Standard, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Franklin Road Church of Christ. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, H. Odell Grider, her daughter, Frankie Loehndorf and son, Steve Grider. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Smith and her husband Gordon of New Palestine, Brenda Limbach and her husband Tom of Indianapolis, and Vickie Butler of Indianapolis; her son Mike Grider and his wife Debbie of Florida; grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Smith, Jennifer Chaffin and Jill Phipps, John and Jason Grider, Scott Loehndorf, Amy Eades and Chris Butler; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew, Grace, Olivia, Karissa, Jasmin, Luke, Kaitlin, Christina, Kennedy, Kayleigh, Emma, Abigail, Evan and Ethan, and Emma Faith. A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Memorial Park, the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at Memorial Park. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
