Scott Alan Mitchell, 60, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born on, September 18, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Marvin Mitchell and Jerilyn (Sprinkle) Mitchell.
Scott was known to be a family man, spending time and creating lifelong memories with his friends and family that he kept close. Scott was also a huge fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, and his favorite, Superman. He loved the sci-fi universes that these stories had. From comic books to different Lego sets, Scott filled his free time by immersing himself into the scenes of his favorite characters. He was an avid reader, only reading physical books and growing his home library to include all of his favorite reads. He liked to tell the story of how he taught his sister Teresa to read in a makeshift school room setting, when they were very small children. He loved to learn all types of facts. You could frequently find him with a topic focused fact book that he would, within days, devour, and then share what he found interesting. You could find him cheering on the Colts during football season, and the Pacers, and the Fever when it was time for basketball.
Scott is survived by his loving wife, Kerita (Gray) Mitchell; children, Stephanie McConnell, Andrew Mitchell, Adam Mitchell, Benjamin (Katie) Mitchell, Tyanna Knight, Angel (Whitney) Knight, Noah (Celest) Mitchell; grandchildren, Lena Mitchell, Xander Mitchell, Alexis Redwine, Connor Redwine, sisters, Teresa Sparks, Kim (Mike) Bundy, brothers, Jerry Mitchell and Tim (Teresa) Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Burns, brother-in-law, Brad Sparks, sister-in-law, Bonnie Mitchell; and best friend, Shawn Scott.
