Scott Edward Anderson

Indianapolis

68, passed away August 2, 2025. Scott was born on March 12,1957, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Walter E. and Marjorie R. Anderson. In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Todd R. Anderson.

Scott has been active in sports all his life. He played baseball in grade school. In high school, he was the student trainer for the Arlington High School Basketball team that won Regionals.

After graduating from Arlington High School, Indianapolis, Indiana, Scott attended Ball State University graduating in 1979 with a B.A. in Accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant and worked for the FDIC as a Bank Examiner covering the state of Indiana until retirement.

Racing got into Scott's blood after meeting Johnny Parsons Jr. and decided to own a Midget Race car team. Scott and John Black had several drivers including Jimmy Kite, Kevin Olson and too many more to name.

After Midget racing, Scott got involved with photographing the Indianapolis 500 and The Brickyard 400 and was a member of the well-known The Third Turn Society.

Scott traveled extensively with his Scuba diving group. He was a PADI certified Diver, also a member of Scuba Life Cozumel, A PADI 5 Star Dive Centre. His group traveled to Cozumel, Hawaii, Roatan, Bonaire, Puerto Morales, Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Martin and St. Croix. His underwater pictures are amazing!

Scott's wish is that his cremated remains be put in the ocean. His turtle shaped urn is biodegradable. Dianne Kyle and his diving group will help with the underwater inurnment.

Scott was also active volunteering with Habitat for Humanity as a Board of Directors member and building homes. He got great satisfaction in helping someone into a home. He loved to build Mini-Bams. His Tiger team has dedicated one wall of drywall in his honor.

Scott loved Family Ancestry. Scott and sister-in-law Kim Anderson put together a family website and family trees.

Scott is survived by sister Sherry Koetting (Rick), sister Robyn Stuteville (Joe), brother Jay Kent Anderson (Kim), niece Emily Jones (Michael), niece Lauren Black (Jordan), nephew Justin Anderson (Crystal), niece Melissa Downs (Andrew), great nieces and nephews Tyler, Kamryn and Alyk Jones, Meora and Solomon Downs, Braidyn, Madalyn and Ryleigh Anderson.

Scott was known as a quiet, patient, nice person with a dry sense of humor. He will equally be missed by his family and circle of many friends.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
