Sarah Lamb

April 14, 1923 — July 8, 2013

On July 8, 2013 Sarah Elizabeth White Lamb, 90, went to sleep at The Terrace at Mountain Creek in Chattanooga, TN and woke up in Heaven, her forever home, where she was reunited with her husband James Lamb and sons Douglas Gilbert Lamb and David James Lamb. The daughter of the late Samuel Elmer White and Lillie Beattie Sheldon White, Sarah was born April 14, 1923 in a mountain cabin perched above the Delaware Water Gap near Dunnfield, NJ, now a national park. Sarah was the second of nine children, including Mary Zeiler, Samuel White (deceased), Helen Staples (deceased), Phoebe Mariani, Gilbert White (deceased), Annie White, Harold White, and Kenneth White (deceased). Sarah was a registered nurse who served in the Army Nursing Corps, where she met and married her husband of 47 years, James Lamb. She worked as an RN at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, IN and at the Indiana School for the Blind. Together Sarah and Jim raised six children: Douglas Gilbert Lamb, Eileen Elizabeth Lamb, Sally Ann Lamb Weber (Kraig), Janet Louise Lamb Nowak (Glenn), Joyce Dale Lamb Cowan (Terry), and David James Lamb (Debbie Bunnell). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Hans, Heidi, Angeline, Meghan, James, Lauren, Robert, Julianna, and Ian and 11 great-grandchildren. Sarah will be remembered as a loving wife and mother and a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Centennial Bible Church, 720 Liberty Drive, Westfield, IN 46074. Services will be held there Monday, July 15 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
