Sarah Janet Daurelle, 90, of Indianapolis passed away on April 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Scottsville, Kentucky on August 25, 1931. Sarah was a self-proclaimed woman. Domineering her life, living it her way, she developed many beautiful relationships. She can be described as a matriarch of her family. She will be missed sorely by all the lives she has touched.
She was an avid fisherwoman, an artist, a seamstress, a handywoman and a devout Christian. She cared for many loved ones while they were ill, even with the smallest cold. Her professional life consisted of both time as a record executive with Polygram records and a long standing career as the Accounting Manager at Hoosier Gasket Corporation where she made many lifelong friends and eventually retired from. She had a mind like a steel trap and remembered numbers even from childhood.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Sue) Daurelle, Michael (Debbie) Daurelle, Julie Hawkins and Kelly Lugar; her siblings, Linda Harris, Loretta Snow and Benny Braswell; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; Kenneth and Agnes Snow; her brothers, Bill Braswell, David Braswell, Roger Braswell and Tony Snow; father of her children, August (Bill) Daurelle; and granddaughter, Danielle Hawkins.
