Sara Lynn Taylor, 90, of Avon, passed away on February 6th, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1935, in Benton, Illinois, to Phil and Sarah Eigenmann. Sara graduated from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, with an R.N. diploma and from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Nursing. She was a nurse at Indianapolis VA Hospital for 30 years, retiring in 2001. She was very proud of her nursing career. She was a 50-year member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and a long-time member of the choir at John Knox.

Sara was a loving Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma, giving her entire family the gift of unconditional love. She had great love and compassion for people and animals, especially dogs. She was loved by so many because she was warm, welcoming, and inclusive of all. She had a wonderful sense of humor that she shared with all who knew her.

Sara is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Stuart) Rowley; grandchildren, Andrew (Brooke) Rowley, Mariah Rowley; great-grandchildren, Keeley, Decklan, Delaney, and Nixon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Taylor, her parents Phil and Sarah Eigenmann, and her son Andy Taylor.

Funeral Services will be held at Flanner and Buchanan - Speedway on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1 p.m., with visitation 2 hours prior to the services. Entombment will follow in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to John Knox Presbyterian Church.
