Sara B. Vickery

Sara B. Vickery, 78, Carmel, passed away September 7, 2011. She was born in Indianapolis on February 10, 1933, the daughter of Dutch and Mary (Ludy) Behrent. Sara attended Butler University and was the 1952 queen in the Butler University's "The Drift" yearbook. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Sara and her husband Philip were active members and participated in motor tours in the Classic Car Club, Historic Car Club, Veteran Motor Club, and the Cadillac LaSalle Club. Sara loved flowers and had over 33 acres of flowers and wooded area. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sara is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Philip Vickery; her sons, William W. Vickery (Cindy) and Jack L. Vickery (Bridget); her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Elliott, Nathan, Dan, and Cole. A memorial celebration of Sara's life will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, with visitation from 11:30 AM until service time. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
