Sara Ann Gaunt Kyle, 74, passed away February 20. 2016, after an extendedillness with pancreatic cancer. Jon Seabrook Kyle, 71, passed March 29 2012,after a tragic automobile accident. A memorial service will be held on March 5,2016 at 3:00pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway, with calling from 1 pm to 3 pmto honor the life and memory of Jon and Sara Kyle. Memorial services for Jonwere postponed while Sara recovered so that she could participate, but becauseof her cancer diagnosis she was never able to do so, and a joint service is nowbeing held. Jon and Sara, who met in their church youth group in Louisville as teens,married in 1960, and were married for 51 years before Jon’s death. They aresurvived by three children: Mark Kyle(Brenda), June Barnett (Chris), and Paul Kyle (Kim) and six grandchildren:Aaron Barnett (Amanda), Emily Barnett, and Benjamin Barnett, Lee Frazee(Shannon), April Miles (Michael) and Erin Frazee, six great-grandchildren: Erica, Alexis and Jordan Miles Alandra and Sergio Delarosa andTyson Phelps and two great-great-grandchildren. Sara is also survived by her siblingsCarol Gaunt and Joseph Gaunt (Chris). Together they are survived by two nephewsand four nieces.

Jon and Sara loved family dinners, traveling, black labradors and most ofall spoiling their grandchildren and great great grandchildren. They bothenjoyed successful careers.

Jon was born to Naunnerle and Asa Seabrook Kyle on November 24, 1940 inLouisville, Kentucky. Jon attended Indiana University School of Business and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematicsfrom Florida International University and his MBA from Indiana University. Hewas a retired airline executive, a professor of Computer Engineering at PurdueUniversity and owner/CEO of his own software development company. He enjoyedelegant design, architecture and art. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Asa Seabrook and NaunnerleKyle, and by his brothers, Alan Kyle (Flora) and Troy Kyle (Sandra).

Sara was born to William Thomas Gaunt and Elaine Gaunt in Louisville, KY onJune 19, 1941. She earned her Bachelorof Science degree in Business and Finance from IUPUI. She retired from work asan insurance underwriting executive at American United Life, earning manyindustry distinctions and credentials. Sara loved family and faith. She was anactive member of her women’s group at Tabernacle Presbyterian Church andenjoyed her time volunteering there as a tutor for at-risk children. Sara taught preschoolers in Sunday school,which she found very rewarding. Mosttreasured were times spent with her grandchildren playing, cooking, listeningand exploring museums. Sara loved toshare the importance of her Christian faith and what prayer meant to her. Sara was preceded in death by her parentsWilliam Thomas Gaunt and Elaine Gaunt and her brother Tommy Gaunt.
