Sandra Thacker

Sandra May Thacker passed away at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, on Sept. 30, 2013, after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Zionsville, Indiana, Sandy was born on May 18, 1937, to Carl and Frances Sanders. She graduated from Zionsville High School in 1955. Sandy married Earl Thacker of Mulberry Grove, Illinois, on June 8, 1956. Sandy was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother and was a friend to all she met. Her family was her pride and joy. She was an avid sports fan who spent many years in the bleachers cheering for her sons and later her grandchildren at their many sporting events. She loved animals and enjoyed golfing, swimming, and being outdoors. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Burl Sanders. Survivors include her husband, Earl Thacker, of Zionsville, IN, son Tim Thacker and his wife Della of Brazil, IN, son Jeff Thacker and his wife Leanne of Zionsville, IN, grandchildren Wade Thacker of Evansville, IN, Brandon Thacker of Zionsville, IN, Kylee Thacker of Carbondale, IL, and Sarah Thacker of Madison, WI, and brother Sammy Sanders of Anderson, IN. Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral home in Zionsville, Thursday, October 3, from 11:00-1:00 followed by a private service and burial at Zionsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zionsville Meadows Rehabilitation Center in memory of Sandra May Thacker.
