Sandra Taylor

Sandra Bork Taylor, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2011. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late George and Burnett Bork, owners of the old Borky’s Drive In, which became the Borky’s Colony House, in Broad Ripple. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dental Hygiene. A homemaker for many years, she later held Executive Secretary positions at Anthem Insurance Company and the Synod of Lincoln Trails U.S.A., a governing body of the Presbyterian Church. After retiring from her administrative positions, she joined her husband in their family owned Landscaping business. Mrs. Taylor was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and elder. She was also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was pre-deceased by her husband Dr. Willis D. Taylor, who died in 2007. She is survived by her two daughters, Marietta Taylor Herod; Patricia Taylor Florens; a brother, Robert Bork; and three grandchildren, Taylor and Nicole Herod and Lindsey Florens. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church, March 12, 2011. Calling will be at the church from 10:00-11:30 am, with the memorial service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 East Kessler Blvd., Indianapolis, 46220, or in Mrs. Taylor’s memory with the charity of choice.
