Sandra Kay (Sandy) Doty Farrell

Sandra Kay (Doty) Farrell of Indianapolis passed away on January 28, 2026.

Sandy excelled as a student and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1965. She continued her education and received degrees from Indiana University and University of Indianapolis in Physical Therapy. She furthered her studies with programs at Vanderbilt University and University of Pittsburgh.

Sandy demonstrated care, compassion, dedication and maintained lifelong friendships throughout her career in Physical Therapy. In 2013, she retired from St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Retirement allowed Sandy to do the things she loved best: reading, travel, crafting, and being with her grandchildren. Sandy was an active Bridge player, Book Club participant, Indianapolis Symphony ticket holder, Master Gardener, and travel enthusiast with the best dry humor. Sandy’s love of reading was ever present with her latest read never far from reach. She made beautiful crafts and enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Sandy had a giving heart, always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. Her children, David and Meghan, fondly remember her creating Halloween costumes, home decor, and any random school projects they needed at a moment’s notice. Mimi, as she was known by her grandchildren, spent countless hours creating memories with story time, macaroni and cheese making and overnights.

Sandy had a fondness for all animals, but especially for her dog, Duke.

Sandy is survived by son David Farrell (Helen), daughter Meghan Farrell (Greg), grandchildren Lauren & Noah Farrell, brother Larry Doty (Belinda). She is preceded in death by her parents L. Wayne Doty and June (Theising) Doty.
