Sandra Jeanne (Adams) Marsella
81, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 1, 2016. Sandra was born April 17, 1935 in Indianapolis to the late Buell Lynn and Bernice (Abraham) Adams. She attended Shortridge High School and Butler University. While raising her children, she served Girl Scouting as a troop leader for seven years and as Neighborhood Chairman. She was a Cub Scout den mother. She served as President of the Spring Mill School A.P.T and served on the boards of the Nora Northside Community Council and the College Commons Neighborhood Association. Sandra was treasurer of several groups including: Kappa Kappa Gamma’s Indianapolis Alumnae Association, the Mu Foundation, Stansfield Circle and the Women’s Department club.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Eckert (Tim), Westfield, IN; son, Scot, Indianapolis, IN; sister, Nancy Steptoe, Beech Grove, IN, a niece and several nephews.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, Frank V. Marsella, and her brother, James Lynn Adams.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
