Sandra Jean Cook

Sandra Jean Cook, née Schneider, passed peacefully on September 23, 2026, in Westfield, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on June 30, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by warmth, energy, and a deep love for the people around her.

Sandra was fun loving, made the most out of life, and truly never knew a stranger. Her presence drew people in, and her love for family was at the center of all she did. She attended Parkland College and built a career as a real estate broker. She also served as a manager for Kohl’s, Walmart, Steinmart, and other department stores, bringing her dedication and strong spirit to every role she held.

She found joy in many things and embraced life with enthusiasm. Sandra loved coaching softball and serving as a softball league commissioner, sharing both leadership and encouragement with those around her. She enjoyed gardening flowers, watching sports, and filling her days with the things that made life vibrant. Some of her happiest times were spent attending Colts games, going to the casino, visiting the beach, enjoying outdoor activities of any kind, following horseracing, watching softball, and going to concerts and plays. She especially loved going to Beef and Boards.

Among Sandra’s greatest joys was simply being with family. She and her husband, Greg, shared a true love, making them inseparable though their 34 years of marriage. They often wore matching t-shirts together. She always loved watching the kids play in the yard, and the sound of laughter brought a smile to her face every time. Her family was her proudest accomplishment. Her sons were her treasure, and her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Cook, and by her daughter, Gwen Snelson, and Gwen’s husband, Mark. Sandra’s love also lives on through her 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward the joy, love, and spirit she shared so freely.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Scheider; her mother, Lucille Scheider; her brothers, Danny Schneider and Doug Schneider; her sons, Robby McIntosh and David McIntosh; and her daughter, Janelle Smart.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on October 3, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan–Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. A memorial service will follow there at 2:00 p.m.

Sandra will be remembered for her open heart, her joyful spirit, and the way she cherished every moment with the people she loved. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
