Samuel Shepherd

Sam C. Shepherd 81 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on March 27, 2014.He was born to Paul and Soffie (Goodin) Shepherd on August 28, 1932 in Columbia , Kentucky, who both preceded him in death. He was retired from Naval Avionic as an Electronics Instructor. Sam was proud of his service in the U S Army. He was Past Master and Secretary of Indianapolis Masonic Lodge #669 F&AM and a proud member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He had a servant's heart volunteering at the VA Hospital and the Indiana Masoinic Home, teaching CPR as a Red Cross Instructor, and was a 10 year member of ABATE of Indiana. At one time he even was on the emergency crew at the Indianapolis 500 driving a wrecker. Sam had a great love for fishing ,riding motorcycles,taking trips in the motor home, and spent countless hours enjoying his family and friends, he will be missed by all. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Marlene(Beasley) Shepherd, children, Connie (Steve) Ward, Debbie (Herb) Archer, Danny Shepherd, Amy Smith, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, March 31, 2014 1 PM at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church 6341 Mann Road Indianapolis, IN. Visitation for Sam will be Sunday, March 30th 4-8 PM at Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township and Monday 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
