Samuel “Sammy” Boone Schoolcraft, May 11, 1965-June 18, 2026

Samuel Boone Schoolcraft, age 61 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Methodist Hospital surrounded by his family, after an extended illness.

Sam was born on May 11, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Donna Emler. He married Christina Walker Schoolcraft in 2000, she preceded him in death, May 18, 2013. Sam was a retired Roofer and Medical Transporter. He loved riding his Harley in his spare time and was an extremely talented artist and lover of music. Sam never met a stranger and was best known for his booming voice and his love for his family and friends.

Sam is survived by his long-time companion Susan Caffery, son Michael (Melissa) Walker, granddaughter Mikaela Walker, grandchildren at heart-Landon, Grayson, Kaylee, J.J., and Richard. Brothers Harry Dobson and Donald Schoolcraft, sisters Crystal (Schoolcraft) Keith and Lawona (Emler) Goodman and special people in his life Amber Caffery, Dawn (Chris) Skinner, and Jessica Caffery, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his mother and stepfather Harry Dobson Jr., and wife Christina, Sam is also preceded in death by his daughter Samantha Walker, grandson at heart Noah Caffery, and brothers Louis Dobson and Garry Emler.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 am at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park with Pastor Tony Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
