Samuel Harold Noel

Samuel Harold Noel, a 101 year old fantastic man on his road of life who went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2016. He was born November 14, 1914 in Goshen, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alene for 50 years, his second wife Effie for 10 years, his four sisters (Alma, Mamie, Helen, and Mary) and his brother (Ralph). He was a quality control engineer and worked at Westinghouse Air Brake for 32 years. He was a Real Estate broker as well. Sam was very active in his community. He is a long time member of the Shriners (34 years), Reception Unit, Murat Gun Club (President in 1994), Eastern Star, Caravan Club (President in 1996), Police Club, Scottish Rite (64 years), White Shrine of Jerusalem, Kowad ‘al Sabikin, ‘El-Ameen Nabeel’ and Masons IN Lodge #669 (66 years). He was a past president of the Adams Trowel Club. He was the first Boy Scout Master at Bel-Air Church. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked at Ft. Harrison. He loved his family and enjoyed being with them as much as possible and they loved him so very much.
He is survived by his three sons, Thurman Noel (Patti), Harold Noel (Jane), Michael Noel, MD (Sue Ellen), and his daughter Sue Ann Reinke (Robert), 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, and his loving partner Hope Carroll. He was a member of East 49th Street Christian Church which later became East 91st Street Christian Church and served several terms as a deacon. He is a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 13th with visitation one hour before the service at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Drive, the service will be at 2:00pm with Rev. Mark Powell, St. Vincent Hospice Chaplain. Entombment will be private with the family.
