Samuel Freeman Krutz

Samuel Freeman Krutz, 87 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away September 14, 2021.  He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 9, 1934 to the late Sherman and Eva (Freeman) Krutz.  Samuel retired from Indianapolis Power and Light Co. after 44 years. He joined the company in 1952 and retired as a Power Plant Maintenance Man.  Samuel was a very devoted husband, hardworking, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He enjoyed woodworking, playing the organ at his home, enjoyed mowing the grass, and traveling, especially going on cruises.  Samuel proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1955-1957.  He was a 50-year member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge #707, a member of the Bridgeport Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was loved by so many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his children, Dr. Samuel Douglas Krutz (Melissa), Steven Thomas Krutz (Jaylee), Carl Sherman Krutz, Carol Petro (Loran), grandchildren, Samuel, Elizabeth, Adam, Benjamin, Devon, Ashley, David, Amanda, Erin, Kelly, great grandchildren, Kaleb, MadiLynn, Samuel, Uriah, Thomas, Johnny, and his sister, Lilly McKinney.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia (Lucas) Krutz, and a sister, Alice Timofeev.  Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with his service being held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.  A Live Stream of the service can be reach by clicking on the following link https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/samuel-freeman-krutz
