Salvatore (Sal) Ferraro of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away January 27th, 2014 at the age of 75.
He was born to the late Angelo and Francis Ferraro on January 2nd, 1939, in Pittston, PA. He spent his childhood years in PA. He moved to Indiana in 1978 where he met and married his wife Sue. They lived happily together in Indianapolis, IN before moving to Zionsville.
Sal was co-owner of Sue and Sal's Salon, where he retired after his tenure with a Cut Above Beauty School in Brownsburg, IN. While he had a background in cosmetology, his greatest passion was cooking and he truly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. Sal always brought 'sunshine' and calmness into everyone's life he touched.
He was a military veteran and found great pride in his heritage and country. Sal was a member of Christ Church in Zionsville, IN.
Sal is survived by his wife Sue, sister Dina Minio, and four children: Susan Kuhn (Nathan), Shawn Wheeler, Linda Brackin (Mark), and Lori Keaton (Rick). He also is survived by six grandchildren: Ryan, Chance, Peyton, Colin, Garrett, and Tim. He was also preceded in death by his brother Thomas Ferraro.
The viewing will be held from 4-7pm on Friday January 31, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville. The Service will be held at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, IL Saturday February 1st at 2pm which will be followed by burial at Plainview Cemetery.
