Sally S. (Stewart) Delporte, 68, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012. Sally was born in Gary, Indiana daughter of Everett and Dorothy M. (Holmes) Stewart. She was a graduated from Emmerson High School in Gary, IN, in 1962 and from Indiana State University in 1966, where she majored in English and minored in Spanish. Sally had taught Sophomore English at Decatur Central High School and most recently was a Pre-School teacher at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Speedway. She was a longtime member of Speedway United Methodist Church and a devoted Christian. She volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Sally was a loving wife and mother and was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Delporte, July 3, 2002. Sally is survived by her children; Kim Delporte Medcalf and her husband Sean of Indianapolis, Katie Bridges and her husband David of Speedway, Eddie Delporte and his wife Marina of Plainfield and Mike Delporte of Speedway. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Alex Bridges and a sister, Patty Barnhouse of West Bend, WI and a brother, Larry Stewart of Carmel, IN. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm, Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Speedway United Methodist Church, 5065 West 16th Street, Speedway, IN. The visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the service time at the church.
