Sally Kahlenbeck

Sally A. Kahlenbeck, 83, Indianapolis, passed away February 8, 2014. She was born January 30, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Olney W. and Zola B. (Eikenberry) Horrell. She married Howard Kahlenbeck August 14, 1954. Sally was a 1953 graduate of Indiana University School of Business and member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a member of Pleasant View Lutheran Church and was a 53 year resident of the Brendonwood neighborhood, where she enjoyed "Country Living in the City". Sally was a member of the Bridge Club, Ladies Golf, and Garden Club. Howard and Sally enjoyed extensive travels for 40 years with life-long friends Roger and Jane Newcomb. Sally was an avid IU football and basketball fan, attending the 1967 Rose Bowl and most of the Men's NCAA basketball tournament games. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Howard Kahlenbeck; children, Kathy (Dave) Bates and Doug (Debbie) Kahlenbeck; three grandchildren, Chris, Jay, and Alan; and a brother, William O. Horrell II. Services will be 12 noon Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Pleasant View Lutheran Church, 801 West 73rd Street. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
