Sally Callahan

Sarah “Sally” Callahan, 69, of Mooresville, Indiana passed away on January 13, 2018. She was born July 12, 1948 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to H. Wesley and Virginia Haller (Kiefer).

Sally married Ron Callahan in 1980, where they formed a family full of love and strength, everything a family should be. Family remembers her as an exceptional, hard-working woman and a born helper with a keen eye for fashion. She was fully dedicated to anything she put her mind to, which proved helpful through her career in education. She loved working with children, often going out of her way to ensure every student in her care was taken care of beyond the normal call of duty. Sally spent time as an assistant principal, principal, and eventually retired in 2010 as the Director of Elementary Education of IPS. She touched many young lives throughout her time here on earth, all of whom benefited from her tenacious, yet light-hearted demeanor. Sally adored her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as traveling, playing euchre, and shopping.

Sally is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving to cherish her memory are husband, Ron Callahan; children, Eric Callahan and Kelli Roche; brothers, John (Pam) and Jim (Leeann); 5 grandchildren, Meghan, Kelsey, Brenna, Mikayla, and Christian; 1 great-granddaughter, Paisleigh as well as a host of loving friends who became family.

Friends and family may visit from 10-12 PM at Springhill Christian Church, 12150 N. Rooker Road, Mooresville, IN 46158 with services at 12 PM. Sally will be laid to rest at a private family entombment which will be held after services at Floral Park Cemetery.
