Ryan McShay Beuoy passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2022, at the age of 43. Ryan will be lovingly remembered for his big smile and huge heart. He was born in Peru, IL on August 2, 1978, to parents, John R. and Dana G. (Ewers) Beuoy. Ryan attended Cathedral High School and Broad Ripple High School. He went on to earn a degree in Finance from Indiana University’s, Kelly School of Business. Later, Ryan followed the footsteps of his grandfather and mentor, Donald R. Ewers and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University, Petit College of Law. Much like his grandfather, Ryan had a passion to represent the underserved with a dedication to social and racial equality. He worked as a Public Defender in Crawfordsville, IN (Montgomery County).
In his youth, Ryan was an undersized athlete full of heart and competitive spirit. These traits helped him to dominate his weight class and become a CYO City Wrestling Champion at Immaculate Heart of Mary. He also loved playing basketball, grilling out and was always the first person to go “all-in” during family poker games. While at Ohio Northern University, Ryan discovered Walleye fishing – and could fry the best fish around. We will all remember him for his gift of laughter. Ryan’s greatest joys were his children. He loved them dearly.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Dana G. Beuoy (Philip Belz); father, John R. Beuoy (Cindy Beuoy); children: Anais Corrine Beuoy (her mother, Veronique Briscoe Beuoy) and Ryan “RJ” Beuoy, Jr. (his mother, Shauntasia “Asiaa” Rayner); daughter-in-love, Serinity Rayner; siblings: Matthew Stephen Beuoy and Madeline Renee Beuoy (Selim Bucher); maternal aunts: Cynthia “Cindy” Brandt, Laurie Ewers Voegel, and Valerie Ewers; maternal uncle, Donald “Donnie” Ewers; paternal aunt, Mary Butz and paternal uncle, Steven Beuoy; as well as many other loving extended family members and adored friends.
Ryan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald R. and Norma Jean Ewers; paternal grandparents, Richard “Dick” and Betty Joann Beuoy; maternal aunt, Monica Hudson; and paternal aunt, Cherie Richardson.
