Ruth Reeve

Ruth J. Scott Reeve, 110, completed her earthly life on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Manor Care at Summer Trace in Carmel, IN where she has resided for 24 years. Ruth was born in Denton, Nebraska in 1903 to Wilbur and Ida Reeves, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, E.C. Pete Scott; her second husband, Frank S. Reeve; a brother and three sisters; and two beloved grandsons, Mark and David Badger. Ruth and her late husband Frank lived most of their married lives in South Bend, IN where he was owner and president of Reliance Pharmacy. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and was in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Carmel United Methodist Church for 43 years where she was active in the Women's Society of Christian Service and a member of the Mary Martha Circle. Ruth was a quiet servant to the Lord. She generously gave of her time and talents to others expecting no recognition or praise. For several years she served as the music chairperson and was treasurer for the Vespers group at Summer Trace. Ruth was dedicated to her husband, family and her faith and enjoyed playing bridge with friends. She delighted in her 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis (husband, Arthur) Wolff, Janet (husband, Peter) Schma and Ila (husband, Jack) Badger. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, December 2 at Carmel United Methodist Church, where family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial gifts can be made to the Mark Badger Memorial Park c/o the Carmel Dad's Club. Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the loving and caring staff at Summer Trace and to Delores Duckett for their special care of our beloved Mother.
