Ruth P. Lacey,
88, passed away April 18,2016. She was born May 30, 1927. Ruth attended Shortridge High School andreceived degrees from Purdue University (Home Economics), Columbia University(Occupational Therapy), and Northwestern University (Physical Therapy). Due toher love for helping people, her career became dedicated to physical therapy,with extensive experience, including working at Indianapolis Power and Light,The Rehabilitation Center in San Francisco, CA, IU Medical Center, Washington, D.C.,General Hospital, and St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. Ruth’s long-timedesire to run a tea room was satisfied when she became part owner and managerfor three summers of the Riverside Lodge, near Lyons, Colorado. Ruth was alifelong member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, and a Master Gardener andwas passionate about dogs and travel. Ruth was preceded in death by herparents, Arthur and Margaret Lacey, and her sister, Mary Kate Lacey. Ruth issurvived by her sister, Peggy Manella of Carmel, Indiana. Ruth had many greatlifelong friends with whom she enjoyed extensive travel. Calling will be from12-1 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan –Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave., Indianapolis, with services to beheld at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. Burial following at Crown HillCemetery. The family has much gratitude to the staff and caregivers of The Stratford for theirkindness and devotion in caring for Ruth. Memorial contributions may be made toTabernacle Presbyterian Church, your local Humane Society, or the AlzheimerAssociation.
