Ruth N. Crabtree

Ruth N. Crabtree, 91, of Fountaintown, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Ruth was born to Ronie C. Weber and Esther M. (Chance) Weber on December 30, 1926 in Yorkville, Indiana. Ruth grew up as a good old-fashioned Country girl who loved cooking and the outdoors. Ruth worked as an Inspector at a bottle distribution company until she met Rex E. Crabtree, the love of her life for 36 years until his passing. They raised their three Children, Rex S. Crabtree, Shelly Gilvin and Sharon Johnson. Ruth raised her family in a traditional loving home where she was always cooking, canning, and baking many delicious pies at one time; apple being her specialty, which no one has ever been able to replicate and make it quite like her. Everything that came out of Ruth’s kitchen was always made from scratch. In her free time she would enjoy listening to Country music, reading her Bible and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Ruth was a strong-willed woman until the very end.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Ronie and Esther Weber, loving Husband Rex Crabtree, Russell and Ada Weber, Agnes (Weber) Nanny, Helen (Weber) and Woodrow Edwards and Howard and Irene Weber.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory, her Son Rex S. Crabtree and Linda Crabtree; Daughters, Dan and Shelly (Crabtree) Gilvin and Rick and Sharon (Crabtree) Johnson; Grandchildren, Melinda Hurley, Bradley Clelland, Blake Smale and Logan Gilvin and Great Grandchildren, KaLeigh Hurley, Korie Hurley, Landin Clelland and Aubrey Clelland along with Charlotte Ruth Smale due in October 2018. She also has several nieces and nephews.
