Ruth "Evelyn" Foust

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Evelyn Foust, 66, on August 23, 2026. Ruth was born on March 26, 1960, to parents John McKnight and Ruth (Flack) McKnight in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born at Wishard hospital and lived most of her life in the Indianapolis metro area. She graduated from North Central high school. 

Evelyn was a gifted singer with perfect pitch who performed in regular and show choir. She lived most of her life playing board and card games. 

She was very patient with her younger siblings. She worked in a variety of clerical and office jobs. She developed an interest in painting Christmas ornaments and figurines. After the Colts came to Indy, she slowly developed an interest in sports and followed the Colts and the Pacers. 

In her later years, she became disabled and developed dementia.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Ernie Foust.

She is survived by 6 siblings, her two children, and seven grandchildren along with multiple nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan - Memorial Park (9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229) on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 12pm to 2pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 2pm.
