Ruth Avalon Hansen

Ruth Avalon Hansen, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born July 22, 1927 to Edward and Edna (Kays) Hasty. Ruth was a member of the Franklin Central Christian Church. Ruth married the love of her life, Leon E. Hansen on April 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death October 3, 2011. Ruth and Leon owned the Huddle Inn in Rensselaer, IN in the early years of marriage and owned Bar 52 and Harvester Bar in Indianapolis for many years. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Carol King of Ft. Pierce, FL; and her son, Terry Hansen of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lori Kimbro, John Hansen, Christina Ransom and Terra Weist. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Flanner and Buchanan with entombment following at Washington Park East Cemetery.
