Russell L. Shackelford, Jr.

Russell L. Shackelford, Jr., 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

He was born on February 18, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Russell L. Shackelford, Sr. and Audra (Shockley) Shackelford.  Russell, known better as ‘Joe’ attended Arsenal Tech High School prior to joining the U.S. Army.  He worked for several factories in the Indianapolis area, including Pepsi Co., prior to his retirement.  Joe enjoyed fishing, playing cards and eating out.

He is survived by his sons, Shawn and James Shackelford; and several grandchildren.  Joe is also survived by his sisters, Roseann Stokes, Mary Perez, Kim Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 12-2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park with funeral services immediately following.  Burial with Military Honors will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
