Ruby Lee Dodson
83, Indianapolis, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
He was born to the late Pinson Young and Georgia Ann-Dodson-Young, September 10, 1929, in Anderson, SC. He married the late Lenora Dodson in 1946, and they lived together in Anderson, SC before relocating to Indianapolis, IN.
Ruby Lee fought in the Korean War, where he received two Bronze Stars and served in the U.S. Army until he retired. He then worked for Jake Kastle and Son and also was a school bus monitor for Pike Township.
Ruby Lee was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church until the time of his illness. He served as a member of the Pastor's Aid.
Ruby Lee is survived by two children: Joy Dodson, of Indianapolis, IN and Aaron Brown, of Birmingham, AL. He also is survived by sister: Mattie Sloan of Chicago, IL; brothers: John Young (Vickie) of Indianapolis, IN, Booker T. Young (Francis) of Anderson, SC, and Robert Young of Anderson, SC, as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Pinson Young, Jr., George H. Young, and Thomas P. Young.
Visitation will be held Monday from 10-12pm at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1301 N. Goodlet, Indianapolis, IN 46222, with the funeral service to follow at 12 noon.
