Ruby Evelyn (Jebens) Davis

Ruby Evelyn (Jebens) Davis, 97, passed away February 6, 2018.  She was born in Davenport, Iowa to John H. Jebens and Mathilde Looges Jebens on August 11, 1920.  She received her RN degree from the University of Iowa in 1942.   She met and married the love of her life, Carl B. Davis in 1949.  They moved to Indianapolis in 1954.  Ruby continued her nursing career at Winona Hospital, eventually becoming the assistant director of nursing.  She and Carl were active members of the Shriners Organization.  She volunteered to be leader of Girl Scout troop 43 for many years.  Ruby was lovingly involved with her church, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  She loved and charmed everyone she met.

Ruby is survived by her son, Carl M. Davis; her daughter, Susan J. Sanderock (Michael); her grandson, Jonathan M. Sanderock (Laura); her great-granddaughter, Ruby K. Sanderock; and a great number of nieces and nephews of the Jebens Clan.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 16th, at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple.  Funeral service will be 11 am on Saturday, February 17th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

She will be laid to rest in Salem, Missouri.  Donations may be made in her honor to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, or your local Humane Society.
