Roy P. Sorrels, 77, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of December 31, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ruth and Everett; two brothers, Franklin and Charles; and his wife, Betty. Roy is survived by four siblings, four children, one stepson, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1963. He retired from Reilly Industries after thirty plus years. He worked another seven years at Diversified. He lived a full life filled with bowling, tennis, playing guitar, horse racing, SEC football, Fox News and exercise. He experienced Daytona Beach, Florida for the first time in 2015 with his twin great-granddaughters. He rode shotgun at 165mph around the Daytona 500 track at the age of 76!
Roy will be deeply missed by his family. His memories will shine bright for generations to come!
