Roy Jerome Lamberg was born on July 23, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mary A. Lamberg. At an early age, Roy professed faith in Christ and was baptized at the Church of the Living God in Christ. Roy continued his spiritual growth at Bethel AME pastored by, Rev. Arthur Board, his grandfather, who he affectionately called, ‘Papa’.
Roy attended Indianapolis Public School #42 and graduated in the class of 1950 from Crispus Attucks High School. After graduation, Roy served in the United States Army Finance Corps. Roy’s greatest and most rewarding career endeavor was that of being ‘An Accountant’. With a love for numbers and zeal for taxes, the Roy J. Lamberg Accountancy Firm was established with many satisfied clients.
Roy was an avid golfer and traveler, loved photography, and enjoyed all types of family gatherings, especially the summer home in Warsaw, Indiana with family fun of swimming, picnicking, and fishing. As a self-taught skilled handyman and mechanic, Roy also enjoyed restoring/repairing homes and cars. Roy was also a 32nd Degree Mason of Southern Cross Lodge #39.
Roy later remarried Marlene E.L. Durham and enjoyed traveling and spending countless hours listening to jazz and reminiscing about ‘old’ times during their 37 years of marriage prior to her death. Roy was also preceded in death by Ann R. Lamberg, their son, David Alan Lamberg, and grandson, Christopher Alan Lamberg.
